Gilbert stürmt ins Regenbogentrikot, Degenkolb Vierter

(rsn) – Philippe Gilbert ist im WM-Straßenrennen seiner Favoritenrolle gerecht geworden. Der 30 Jahre alte Belgier siegte nach 267 Kilometern in Valkenburg als Solist. Die Silbermedaille gewann der Norweger Edvald Boasson Hagen, Bronze ging an den Spanier Alejandro Valverde, der sich bereits seine dritte WM-Medaille nach 2003 und 2006 sicherte.
