Valgren bezwingt Kreuziger im Sprintduell, Sagan wird Vierter

(rsn) - Michael Valgren (Astana) hat beim 53. Amstel Gold die Favoriten stehen lassen und sich nach seinem Erfolg beim Omloop Het Nieuwsblad im Februar über 263 Kilometern von Maastricht nach Berg en Terblijt den zweiten großen Klassikersieg in dieser Saison gesichert. Der 26-jährige Däne setzte sich im Finale des ersten der drei Ardennenklassiker gemeinsam mit Roman Kreuziger (Mitchelton-Scott) aus der Favoritengruppe ab und bezwang den Tschechen, Amstel-Gold-Sieger von 2013, im Sprintduell deutlich. Dritter wurde der Italiener Enrico Gasparotto (Bahrain-Merida), der das Rennen bereits zwei Mal hatte gewinnen können.
